Membership Information

Membership is $45 per year which includes:

$10 for PRTA membership
$35 for Texas Retired Teachers Association (State Dues)
Membership in PRTA is open to anyone who would like to join.
Your spouse or someone who is interested in education and desires to promote the interests of TRTA and PRTA may also become a member.
We are now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 Membership year, which runs from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Time to rejoin TRTA/PRTA. You get a lot for this price, paid lobbyist in Texas and Wash. DC, quarterly TRTA magazine, monthly PRTA newsletter, informative and fun programs, relevant news flashes, many great benefits, travel ideas, and good times with new and old friends.

To have a voice in Austin on the issues regarding our retirement benefits and health insurance. TRTA is the only organization with the power to take steps to improve the quality of life for retirees. TRTA lobbies the state legislature on our behalf.
To be able to attend monthly PRTA meetings to stay informed about issues that affect our future as retired educators.
PRTA offers numerous opportunities for volunteer service and fellowship. We meet monthly from September through May. Meetings include informative programs, and a catered luncheon.
To be able to support PRTA programs which include Children's Book Project, PRTA Scholarship Fund.
To meet new friends, connect with old friends and colleagues, and more importantly to have fun!
Members can be as involved as they have the time and inclination to be! Please consider joining us to meet up with old friends and make new ones!
